Rhoads Family Origin

I am a Rhoads family researcher and I have been trying to track down the source of the Rhoads family. After following many of your family lines, I find there are 2 possible sources. One of the family lines designated Henry Roth of Mannhein, Germany to be the first in the US. I went to the FHL films from Mannheim during his time period and found no Heinrich Roth on the film. I found other Roths but not many from this area. Another line says the souce of the family is Heinrich Roth of Rhodt, Germany. Before I go and waste more money on trying to find this Henry Roth, does anyone out there know for sure the origin of the Roth/Rhodes/Rhoads family. Is it Mannheim, Rhodt, or another place. Any help would be appreciated to steer me in the right direction. Please will someone reply. Thanks for your time and effort. Lois
