Elisha Rhodes was born about 1753 in Bertie Co., NC. He was the son of Thomas Rhodes and Elizabeth Standley. The family originated from Virginia and previous to that England. Elisha served as a Captain In the County Militia in the Revolution. The biography mentions six generations of the family.
