I posted a similar message to this a few years ago, but my email address has changed so I am reposting. I have made no progress whatsoever since the original posting. I am looking for any information on what happened to Newtie Rhodes Holland Cawthon and an unknown son. She was born around June 1887. The 1900 US Census indicated she was born in Louisiana. The 1910 US Census indicated she was born in Mississippi. I am unable to locate her after that. Her father was Newton M. Rhodes and her mother was Matilda M. Roe. Her step-father was William Thomas Holland. She married Christopher Patton Cawthon on October 23, 1905 in Marshall County, Mississippi. It appears they had an infant son who was born and died in 1905; a daughter Montgomery (?) Elaine Cawthon Rader born in 1909 and died in 1970; a daughter Irene D. Cawthon Kennedy born in 1911 and died in 1988; and apparently a son born sometime after 1911 who is a complete unknown to me. I was told by Elaine Rader’s sister-in-law that Newtie left Patton and their two daughters shortly after the unknown son was born and she was never seen or heard from again. Patton died in 1945 in Nashville, TN. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has information they are willing to share about Newie Rhodes Holland Cawthon, the mystery son, and even Patton Cawthon. Thank you.
