I also have a Robert Rhodes from Nova Scotia but unfortunately not the same one. Mine showed up in the 1830s in Upper Musquodoboit, and his son named Robert married a Margaret Blakely and moved to Massachusetts.
I checked novascotiagenealogy.com - the NS Archives searchable database - and found none that matched your specs. That isn't unusual since its a work in progress and the raw data are often messy, but it would have been nice to locate him quickly.
You might look for him around the Lunenburg NS area - I believe there were a bunch of Rhodes in that region.
