My 8 times Greatgrandfather, his son, and two brothers were hired privateers for the Bristish Navy. Their eye sight got so bad they couldn't tell the difference between Spainish and British ships.They were captured by the British Navy and taken back to England. Where my ancestor was hung from a yard arm.
his son and two brothers were sent to Georgia and the Carolinas to work in the rice and indigo fields. They escaped and changed their names maybe to Saunders/Sanders.
Trying to locate a Paul Ray Rhodes in OR. Our most rescent common anestor is at 9 generation.
