My name is Peggy Rhymer Roberts. I have just started to research the Rhymer family. Have run into a few brick walls, because of the different spellings of the Rhymer name. (Rhymer, Rimer, Rimmer, Rymer) My great great great grandparents were James and Piety Rhymer. As far as I can find they were orginally from Rowan Co. NC. They moved to Tippah Co., MS and were there during the Civil War. After the war they moved to Souther IL (Union Co.) James had a brother Jacob who already lived in Southern, IL. Could be be distantly related?
