The fact that he is living in Maidstone, VT is important. Probably out of the line of Johannes Reich of Maidstone. If go to the RFA (Rich Family Association) site, you will find connections to this line of Riches.

George appears to be born about 28 Nov, 1807 to Moody Rich and Sarah Marshall. Moody born in 1780 in Haverhille, NH and died in 15 Aug, 1873 in Maidstone, Essex, Vt. Sally Marshall, born 1778 in Hampstead, NH., married 28 Nov 1799, in Maidstone, died 26 Mar 1859.

Moody was the son of John Reich and Catherine S. Whiteman. John Reich was born Jul 1729 in Rheindurkheim, Germany and died in Maidstone 30 Dec. 1813. He married Catherine Sophia Whiteman in 1753 in Boston, MA. She had been born 15 Sept 1738 in Meerfelden, Germany and died 14 April 1818 in Maidstone.

John Reich son of Johannes Reich and Anna E. Reich.

There is a book entitled John Rich of Maidstone that has been recently republished. By Julia Rich Hogan. Go to the Rich Family Association and look for info on the publication Kinfolk about John Reich and also about the book. There is a woman named Mary Lighthall who is the expert on this line. Post your inquiry at the Ancestry Rich forum...Mary is likely to answer and help you.

Good Luck.
