I am researching the Riggs family for a friend. His ancestor was W.M. Riggs, 1860 Carouse, Ouachita, Arkansas. From your information here and in other postings I believe W.M. Riggs is Wm. McA. Riggs, 1840 Mountain, Crawford, AR. He is listed directly following Hugh, which makes the connection. William would be the brother of your Alexander G. Riggs. As you will see below, several Riggs are listed on the same page in 1860, including Alex's children with Mary Hale and her husband. The Jones' listed are my friend's ancestors. Margaret, I believe, is William's daughter, but now I am not sure since I cannot find William in 1850 to prove it. Is she possibly Alexander's? In 1850 Alexander had a daughter named Margaret C. Riggs, b. abt 1846, but this may be Caroline in 1860???
