Although I wear a MacFarlane kilt - the Clan links are pretty unlikely both Robertson and MacFarlane - see my previous posting.
Unless you can trace yr family to when Robert (christian name) became Robb (surname) you will never know where the surname originates from. You could get yr DNA tested - i am doing this - and a few other plantation families have done the same. - on the Robb families dna page
I'm not an expert on the Plantations - but the information is out there if you want to research it.
