My g-g-grandfather came to the US in 1860. He was born in 1841 and lived in the San Francisco bay area until his death in 1925. His name here in the U.S. was Captain Charles Rock, but our family believes his name was Sandberg before leaving Sweden. We also think he was from the Stockholm area. We have lots of information on him here in the U.S., including 3 oil portraits of ships he sailed as captain, which I'm happy to share. Anyone ever hear about him prior to his immigration to San Francisco?
His wife was Mary Gerhardt Rock from Darmstadt, Prussia (Germany), and children were Peter Rock, Annie Rock, and Charles H.H. Rock. I'd love to be in touch with anyone connected to this family
