JOHN and NANCY (Baber) RODES came to Fayette Co. from eastern Virginia about 1826. Their children were John Jr., Sidney, Mildred, Mary, Martha, Charles, Jane, James, Martin and Rufus. JOHN RODES JR. married ELIZABETH TAYLOR (daughter of my g-g-grandfather Benjamin F. Taylor). JOHN and ELIZABETH had a daughter named NANCY who married WILLIAM ARTHUR. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
