Shirley: John Rhoton is my gg-grandfather. His daughter Martha is my g-grandmother. I believe John's parents to be Elisha L. Rhoton born about 1812 in VA, and Elizabeth Webb born about 1817 in VA. They were married July 10, 1838 in Scott, Co VA. Family was in Jefferson Co TN 1850, Cannon Co. Tenn in 1860, and Franklin Co Tenn in 1870 & 1880. John F Rhoton was in the civil war and applied for
pension while living in Rains Co TX. Both John and Simmie are buried in Lone Star Cemetery in Point, Rains Co, Texas.
Our line of Rhotons however spelled came from Delaware. This is what Elisha had as his father being born in 1880 Census. Still searching for father of Elisha. I have a lot on the Simpson ancestors. email me at loukaz@doglover.com
