Charles Adolphus Roux was born in 1871 in Alsace and his brother and mother moved with him to the States when he was 7. They settled in Fort Wayne, where his mother had relatives...Charles' brother had a daughter named Irene who married Leo Poinsette and stayed in Fort Wayne. Charles married Emma McNeil and moved to Portage-la-Prairie where twin girls were born in 1898, Loretta Wayne and Louise Porteus Roux and a son Gordon, born 5 years later. They were in Treherne, Manitoba by then. In 1912, Charles ran off with Emma's cousin, probably a McNeil and married her, then had two more Roux children, a boy and a girl. Charles was a successful butcher by trade. One of his twin daughters located the new family in Alberta. Searching for any information on the Roux family, some who probably stayed behind in the States. The twin girls corresponded with a Roux relation in Paris for quite awhile, too.
