Charles, The Henry Ruark you reference as working with Hanson Ruark in 1834 is probably a brother, not a parent. The 1830 North Carolina census shows a Henry Rouark in Brunswick County (page 325). This census entry was reviewed for ages and distribution of family. It was concluded that this is NOT the Henry Ruark who migrated out of Dorchester County, Maryland, whom Suzanne is referring to. That Henry Ruark is still in Caswell County, NC in 1835, showing up in property purchase records. I too am looking for data regarding parentage of Hanson Ruark. I am focusing on the Ruarks in Horry County,SC, adjacent to Brunswick County,NC, in particular John Rhuark who settled at "Rhuark's Landing" on the Waccamaw River and shows up in the 1800 census. When I finish assembling my data, I'll send what I have to you. Suzanne, if you read this, I really am finishing the Ruark book! I am going to Dorchester County, MD the week of January 24 to research the Ruark records there. Then I will print the book with what I have. Ray Berg Rochester Hills, MI
