I think I have gotten some of my family info. messed up somewhere. Too many Jacobs and Martins! :) Here is the information I have,which I have received from other Rupe sites.
My linage is with Reason Rupe, son of John N. Rupe and Elizabeth McConnell. John N. was born in 1801 in OH. I have found a book listing John as a drummer in the war of 1812. From what I understand his father was Jacob W. born in 1775 in Germany and died in 1846. He married Martha Price (this is where I am thinking things got mixed up) Again, seems like a few of us have this info, but if it was researched or just copied I am not sure. Jacob W.'s father was Martin who was born in VA. To me, it doesn't make any since for dad to be born in US and then go back to
Germany then later return to US. But...I have a book (copied from heritagequestonline.com)(from the Library) explaining some of the Rupes did do this. This book also has the linage. If you would like a copy, I'd be happy to send it to you. I can email it, since it only has 33 pages. Again, too many Jacobs and Martins thus trying to figure your linage.
