Sorry, I am not a descendant of Ambrose and joanna. I am a descendant of Benjamin sabean of weymouth, Digby County, Nova Scotia. Benjamin Sabean was a brother of Ambrose's grandfather, Jeremiah Sabean Jr. I was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. Canada. All the other sabean families in Saint John have their roots in Port Lorne, N.S. Some of then are descendants of Ambrose and Joanna and Ambrose and Susan Jane Wilkins. Your grand parents lived in Saint John for a while. George is listed in the city directory of 1902 and 1903. Dill, widow of George is listed in the 1905 and 1906 city directories.
I have a death date for George as 22 September 1904. Lilah or Laliah as she was known in Nova Scotia, known as Delilah in saint John. She died in Saint John 27 December 1906 and burried in Bridgetown N.S. I don't known where George died. Their children that I have are: Lemuel Huston; Alexander (have no dates of birth and death, don't know who he married); Minnie, born 28 February 1886, died 16 January 1927 at eastport, Maine. She married 29 November 1908 in Eastport Maine to Charles Melvin Holland; Carry, born 2 June 1889.
Could Clarence be Carry? I have had E-mail from Minnie's granddaughter, Dorthy J. Stade.
Could you give me birth and death dates for your grand parents, and wher they lived.
Lemuel lived in Saint John in 1908 and 1909.
Alexander also lived in Saint John in 1908. Both lived on the same Street and are listed in the city directory as sea captain.
A daughter of Alexander, Frances V. Sabean died 13 September 1908 at 4 days old. She was burried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John. No headstone.
A daughter of Lemuel Sabean,Agnes, age 6 days died 6 March 1909, also burried in an unmarked grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, N.B.
Hope that I have been of help to you.
