The Hiram Sears that Ralph speaks about is my 4th great grandfather. Hiram and Elizabeth (we have always just assumed her maiden name was Campbell due to a son named Campbell, but we have not proven it) had thirteen children; of which most are not known, including my 3rd great grandfather. The Newton Sayres you are speaking of (married in West Virginia) is actually a great grandson of Hiram. The Newton Sayres who is the grandson of Hiram is my 2nd great grandfather and the uncle of the Newton Sayres whom you speak of. The second Newton is Newton Franklin Sayres, the son of Newton's brother Franklin. I have another cousin who has been in contact with Ralph sharing information as he too has tried to uncover our line.

Sorry this may sound extremely confusing, so if you would like, I can give you access to my tree for viewing.
