Lynn...thanks for this info...i will forward to my "langdale" contacts...from what they have told me - you should look in georgia for some of your missing "dukes"...and in florida...several of my ancestors from colleton/beaufort area migrated to georgia before 1850...and some migrated to florida after 1850...there is a definite pattern for numerous families from that area of south carolina following a route into south georgia & then into columbia county, florida & then on down to central part of florida...some came down to fight in the seminole indian wars & then returned afterwards...i will try to track some of your "dukes" to see if i can find them on census records for georgia and/or florida...will forward any info i find to you direct...thanks again for your contact!!
