Hello researcher! I share the same delimma some of my folks still rest below the waters. Duke Energy did move some graves but the company requested descendants to notify them (Duke) in writing the families wishes concerning the graves. There was one family cemetery @ Jocassee that wasn't removed likely because there were no descendants left. I have also watched the Video about the lodge and graves left behind and it is sad and heartbreaking. NOTE when Duke Energy moved some of the graves they provided New gravestones during the removals, leaving the old monuments behind. I'm in touch at least weekly with a descendant whose ancestor's tombstone was shown in the video under water The Hinkle Monument, she has told me the graves were moved and I do know the location of the new graves and stones. BUT I Agree it was a mess but all in all most of the removals were done with respect to the deceased but for genealogist as my self it is a nightmare within its self. (the whole Process) I also believe there were some Dodgens graves moved to a plot near old Pickens Church.
