I am not related to this man, as far as I know, but I ran across this article while reading a Georgia newspaper, and realized that the odds are good that his relatives might never stumble across this.

Who Wants a Substitute?

The undersigned will go as a substitute for any gentleman in Georgia who will pay him four thousand dollars.

He has been in service a year. Address him at Snow Creek, Pickens Dist., S.C.
