Different Versions of ‘Schenck’ Coats of Arms I am currently undertaking a study of the variety of designs of Coats of Arms awarded to different branches of the Schenck Family. Awards of these Coats of Arms would normally have been covered by a “Wappenbrief” or ‘Letter of Award’ in which was customarily specified: - The Date and Place of the Award. The reason the award was being made. The name of the person authorising the award. That of the person presenting it. Details of any ‘rights’ granted with the award. The name of the Recipient and the town to which he belonged. The extent to which the award was to be passed down to his descendants. A detailed description of the heraldic design. I would greatly welcome receiving by e-mail copies of any drawings or pictures of any ‘Schenck’ Coats of Arms together with all known information relating to the award. I would also appreciate receiving copies of any ‘Letters of Award’ to persons named ‘Schenck’ regardless of the language in which they are written. Naturally, I will be happy to reciprocate with information already known to me. My e-mail address is david.schenck@virgin.net With warm thanks to all those who can help!
