I am looking for the parents and siblings of Katherina Schonert (my great-grandmother), b. abt. 1824 in Oldenburg, Oldenburg, Germany, d. aft. Jun 1880, probably N.Y. She married bef. 1845 in Oldenburg, Frederick Reiss, b. abt 1820 in Oldenburg, d. 1876 in N.Y. The came to N.Y., from Bremen, Germany on the Goeschen 24 Jul 1859. In the 1880 census, Louisa Sherry, 90 y. old widow from Prussia, lives with them and is called Louisa's mother. I assume Katherina's parnets changed their name from Schonert to Sherry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
