Centerville is only two miles north of Clay county, in Turner. There are eight Darrow's listed in the index. They are: Darrow, C. - 88 - referring to a particular building on main street - "C. Darrow used a portion of the downstairs for a butter and egg business until 1910." Darrow, Clarence - 235 - "Company D, 41st division of the 147th Field Artillery of which most of the Centerville boys were members, left Camp Greene and arrived November 18 at Camp Mills near Mineola, New York. On December 7 Battery D, which was recently changed from light to heavy artillery, was transferred to Camp Merritt, Cresskill, New York, from where the old Fourth S.D. Infantry left January 9, 1918, and landed on French soil Wednesday, January 23." Clarence is on this list, as is Harvey on the previous page. Darrow, Clyde - 80, "In late 1961, plans were made to build a new block building by Clyde Darrow, Olin Johnson, and Herb Begeman. This building was leased to the US Postal Department for use as a post office." - 102, "(Gunderson & Rist building...in 1965 it was sold to Clyde Darrow and Olin Johnson..." -125, "Dec 7 (1960) a contract for construction had been awarded to Clyde C. Darrow, Olin E. Johnson and Herbert C. Begeman, all of Centerville." for building of a post office. Darrow, Earl - 236, listed on a plaque for being in WWI. Darrow, Ernest C. - p.76, "(1961) E. C. Darrow purchased the property (Ray's Barber Shop building)" - 109, "(1960) Good Samaritan Society building, Ernest Darrow, co-chairman." - 110, "Good Sam building...Ernest Darrow and Sons Construction Co." - 112, "Ernest Darrow listed as being a truck driver, no date." Darrow, Frank - p.97, "(1941) Frank Darrow hired as manager of Balin's dept. store." - 214, a member of a committe for Centerville's 75th anniversary, 1958."
