Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Jacob Shiner, who maried Dorothea, is the son of John Shiner of Winchester. VA. He and Dorothea and their children eventually settled in Hudson, McLean Co., IL. The 1880 census shows them with 4 sons and 6 daughters. Their son William (probably your William H.) was 25 and listed as a farm laborer in the 1880 census. I have other information if you are interested.
