I have had major break in my Shipp Family of Shenandoah Co. VA.

We have had for three generations the "believe" that our family were descendants of Wm. Shipp of early Norfolk Co. VA. ENGLISH. We supplied information found in "The Shipp Family History" by Ralph D. Shipp.

Now it would appear I need to check out John Frederick Shipp of Rhineland-Palatinate who arrived in ship Molly/Molley in 1741 into Philadelphia, PA. These shipping lists should be on line. He aged at 22, so born c1719 in Germany. I believe I will be able to trace his descendants to Emmitsburg, Frederick Co. MD where my oldest known ancestor Godfrey Shipp is listed for 1800 census. He died c1830 in Shenandoah Co. VA.

There is a D.N.A. study through Family Tree DNA, I do hope men who go by the name Shipp will take part in the study.
