There is a Dr. Ellis Simkins who died in Armstrong Co., PA, b. about 1808 in PA. The 1850 census of So. Buffalo twp, Armstrong Co., PA has an Allen Simpkins, age 42 (b.1808), physician. The names and ages of this Allen on the 1850 census exactly match the names given by a Susan Bruecken Deakin. Wife, Anne Campbell, children: James Bailey Simkins, b. 1832, Fayette Co., PA; Allen West Simkins, b abt 1833, Fayette Co.,; William Campbell Simkins (not on 1850 census); Elizabeth Jane Simkins Bricker, b. 27 April 1835 Fayette Co., PA; Albert Phillip Simkins, b. 1839; Ann Eliza Simkins, b. 1841.
Coincidentally, a Daniel Simkins, b. NJ, about 1776, died Columbiana Co., OH, 1848, married (2) Jane West about 1806 Fayette Co., PA. His youngest son was named West Simkins.
