Try this again....., last one did not post.
Looking for any info. on SIMPKINS from Maryland's Eastern Shore. Have traced back to Jesse (born 1808) and his father Charles (born about 1759). Charles probably migrated up from Northampton, VA. up the Chesapeake Bay to Somerset County, MD where I have him purchasing land in the Somerset Land Records.
There is also a "Major" SIMPKINS in the book as well buying property in Somerset County after 1800.
Have found a Joshua and Ezekiel SIMPKINS (SIMKINS) coming up the Bay (probably from Northampton, VA.)through Smith Island, settling in Somerset/Wicomico and Dorchester counties in late 1790's.
Anybody out there that might have any info. on Charles' origins would be appreciated.
