This is what I know about Dr. Ellis Simkins. I believe his middle name was Everett. He was born in PA. Married Ann Campbell in 1829 in Fayette County, PA. The 1830 census list Ellis in Union Township, Fayette Co., PA living with two teenaged boys. In the 1840 census they are still living in Fayette Co. but in Perry Township and Ellis is the Justice of the Peace. In 1850 they are living in Slate Lick, South Buffalo Township, Armstrong Co. PA and he is listed as a physician. He is listed as Allen but that is incorrect. He is buried near Slate Lick. Of the Children Albert and Elizabeth stayed in PA. James and Allen moved first to Illinois, then to Iowa and South Dakota. Ann Elizabeth to Ohio.
