My g grandmother was Laura Skuse, born in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella Co., Michigan; she died October 31, 1935 in Onaway, Presque Isle Co., Michigan. She married Edmund Walters in 1893 in Clinton Co., Michigan; their children were Ray, Minnie, Bertha, Louis, Mamie, and Edith. Laura's father was William Skuse, born about 1842 in NY. He enlisted in the Civil War in June 1862 and served in the 136th Regiment NY Infantry organized at Portage, Wyoming Co., NY; he was discharged December 1863. William married Elizabeth Woolston on November 26, 1867 in Clinton Co., Michigan. She was the daughter of William Woolston, who was born in England in 1818 and Hannah Woolston, born in England in 1820. Some of their children were James, Richard, George, William, and Elizabeth. The elder Elizabeth died on August 7, 1891 at the age of 42 in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella Co. soon after giving birth to a baby named Elizabeth who was born on July 15, 1891. The baby died on August 29, 1891.
I hope this is of help to you and would be interested in any information you have as well. Thanks.
