SLEIGH///SLIGH

Interested in any information on Archibald SLEIGH . He was born in Cramond, near Edinburgh, Sct, in 1845. He had a twin brother James who died aged 23 in Goldthorn Hill,Wolverhampton, Stafford, U.K. in 1868.
Archibald b.1845 was son of Archibald Sleigh and Julia Alsop.<Julia was born in England in 1823 and was the daur of Daniel Alsop and Rebecca Beamish>
Stories passed down through the Sleigh family believe that Archibald was in India<Army> but we know nothing as regard to which regiment he served under. Also.... rumoured that he married a Indian Princess!!
Archibald grew up in England after the family left Scotland in about 1851/2. Would be interested to hear from anyone who may have information on my gt gt uncle who was brother to Daniel Sleigh my gt grandfather. It's quite possible Archibald married in India and had a son and ended up in America.
Whatever happened to him....??
Archibald, inc my gt grandfather Daniel, were Landscape gardeners.

Hope someone can help solve the mystery of Archibald's disappearance !

Most if not all Indian Army records were checked but nothing found about Archibald believed to be of High Rank !

Many thanks,

Patrick.
