hello steve! this is your cousin maureen! i was so happy to finally have a reply to my posting!i remember your mom ( my aunt honey) very well, i really loved her so! i have been working on my mothers side of the family for a few years( finland) and my grandfathers side (the hurleys) in fact we just had a hurley,darling,knox reunion last july that yeilded about 200 plus relatives. i've only just started the slimak line about 8 months ago. ( i've got so many ancestors lines i start forgeting who's related to who!). i was at the stamford town hall a while back and got the record of marriage for our g,grandparents. the record states that john slimak married "rozie" "kola" may 30-1907. both were born in austro-hungary, both were 22 yrs. old at time of marriage,it was the first marriage for both, he was a laboror, she was a servant. john's father is listed as joseph slimak and his mother as catherine laslavik. rose's father is listed as frank kola and mother as elizabeth ( with no surname listed). they were married by the rev.ig. kruzynski at pastor polish church in stamford,ct. there is much more info. to be had .......e-mail me privatley........ hmp93@aol.com hope to hear from you soon! maureen
