Thank you for your email. I was very pleased to receive some definite information about my Smailes line.
My grandmother, Mary Ann (Smailes)Iceton was Joseph Smailes older sister (the oldest of 10). Joseph was Master of the Hunt and was in charge of the pack of fox hounds. As you mentioned, he was killed in a riding accident.
