Dear Jan,

It is quite possible that my Elihu was related to this Elihu, but unfortunately I have been unable to get further back than my Elihu's parents, John and Anna Smead. There was more than one John Smead in Windsor County, VT, and I have NOT been able to identify which one I descend from. My Elihu was born in 1800 and supposedly in Windsor, VT. Any information you have to share or suggestions you might have on how to identify my John Smead, would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing that I'm looking for a John Smead who was born between 1750 and 1785. That is a wide range allowing for the possibility that my Elihu's father COULD have been between the ages of 15 and 50 when his son was born.

Thank you for your message.

Cathy
