I have noticed that about the Snipes, too, but I hadn't noticed about Bayless.

I think it's proven that old Moses Grisham/Grissom had children Wilson Cager G., Jesse Nelson G., Nancy who married Daughtery, Walter Alvis G., and Andrew Jackson G. But I saw somewhere that somebody thinks also that a Vincent Snipes Grisham was son of old Moses. And who does Jerome B Tate's wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Grisham Tate, belong to?

I have wondered if old Moses maybe was married to a Snipes lady late in life and had Vincent and Betsy. There's room for them in the 1830 Giles census.

And the name Bayless also appears in the Campbell family that descended from Hugh Campbell of Giles Co whose 2nd wife was a Snipes. Bayless Campbell (b 1893) was the great-grandson of Hugh and the Snipes woman. He's also descended from Whites. This Campbell family was connected to the Grisham and Tate family later down the line.

The name Bayless or some variation of it also appears in the White, Weathers, Grisham, (and I think maybe also Thornton) families in Lauderdale Co AL. There were three Bayless Weathers born ca 1848, 1860, 1872.

I can connect all of these families to the Tates and each other in one way or another.
