William Martin Nichols had a brother --John Taylor Nichols who volunteered in the summer 0f 1861 with a Company of men recuited by Addison H. Nunn from Western Arkansas for services with the Confederate Forces. Co.I 9th regiment of Ar. Inf.this became Co. I 14th Reg. under Commander John S. McCarver. This Co. divided into 3 Companies. John Taylor Nichols went to Co B. 21th Reg. Commanded by Capt. John M. Wasson, Who was commanded by Colonel Jordan E. Carvers. This was the same unit that John 's brother William was in. We have other information on John, but have not been able to find a thing on William.
There is another William that we though was him , but in tracing him we believe he was from Indiana.
Anything you can help me with Willaim will be greatly appericated. Thanks in advance. Lula
