Your message is old so you may not get this, but your Nan is right. There is a Gent - Westwell connection. If this is the same family, Hannah Westwell's mother's maiden name was Norris. Her sister, Agnes Norris, married John Gent. They are connected to this Speak-Gent family. The father of the Thomas who married Fanny Speak was William Gent. William and the above John were brothers. So you can see there is a connection between all the names you mentioned. I have further information on the Westwell-Norris family if you are interested.
