In the late 60's to early 70's my family owned about 10 acres and grew pickles on a few acres. I learned how to make a few dollars and help out my dad by picking pickles. We'd take them to a farm on Rawson Avenue (probably near I-94), where they were sorted, we were paid, and the pickles were moved to the canning factory. I really enjoyed those times!
