Hi William,
Haven't checked the postings on this forum in awhile. Noticed your posting and reference to Cedartown, GA. My father-in-law Elmer Royce Statham is from Cedartown, GA, although has lived in California for many years. I have taken up this fabulous "hobby" and searching all family lines for my children, but I don't get as much time to do it as I would like.
When it comes to the Statham line, I am stuck at my husbands great-grandfather. But here is a bit of the info I have. Elmer's (my husbands father) father is James Elmer Statham, born in 1906, who married Lille Braswell. James' father is John Robert Statham c. 1888, who married Bessie Gallman. Elmer tells me he believes they came from Harralson and/or Pauling Co., but family eventually settled in Cedartown/Rockmart area. I plan to look up census info in the very near future, so I can (hopefully) determine John Roberts parents names. This is still a long way from your John Statham in 1800, but perhaps I will run across this name in my search, since they are the same first name. Will keep in touch.
