I'm looking for the parents of a Harpa/Harper Carrie Minerva Straun, she was born c1830 in Tenn. according to the census. She marr. a Hiram Cozart in Yalobusha Co. MS, Sept. 1849, marr. record has Stone, but a family Bible has her name as Straun, some have it as Strong and Armstrong. I believe she and possibly her family may have gone to Miss. with these Cozart's from Carroll Co. TN, c1841. There is a J.T. Straun living very near Minerva and her Cozart husband on the 1850 Yalobusha Co. MS census. They end up in Calhoun Co. MS by 1860 due to county line changes.

I figure this is probably this J.T. Straun's mother. I've wondered if the name Harper might have been her mother's maiden name. Any help appreciated, thanks, Kay. (kahilwoods@home.com)
