The family history I have says Aaron Sugg, son of Mark, was born 10-31-1814, at Wake co., NC. Married to Mary Laycock/Laycook, daughter of Thomas Laycock/Laycook, who was born 9-14-1815, at Orange Co., NC, and died at Chickalah Mountain, Arkansas on 1-26-1885. They married on June 26, 1837 in Carroll County, TN. Spelling of 7th child is Evelyn/Evaline, born 1846. 1st husband - J. C. King; 2nd husband - Levi Robertson.
Aaron was wagon maker, who grew grapes and made fine wine. The families of his 11 children who followed him settled within adjoining neighborhoods. Chickalah Mountian had only 3 families living on it when the Sugg brothers arrived. It grew into a small city of 2000 population. Exie's older brother, WILLIAM RILEY, was born on 6-5-1838. He and Mary Elizabeth Bridges were married on 8-19-1860 in Carroll County, TN. During the Civil War WILLIAM RILEY & MARY ELIZABETH moved to KY & IL, then came to AR in 1870, and settled on Chickalah Mountain where they lived until their deaths.
