I married a Taapken. Their family descends from Johann Taapken. He came to Menard County, Illinois with two brothers Gerd and I cannot remember the other one. Johann had about 16 children. I have given all of the information I found on the Taapken's to my step-daughter. If you are interested I will get it from her and reply.
I am interested in knowing if Bernhard Taapken might have been the father of Johann, Gerd and the other brother.
