I believe your great grandmother was Sarah Alethia Taber, who was born on 8 August 1896, daughter of Cynthia Tompkins (Case) and Cornelius8 Taber (Alexander7, James6, Jeremiah5, John4-3, Philip2-1). Sarah was married about 1913 as second husband of Daniel Thomas Lewis, who was born 22/26 June 1889, son of Elizabeth D. (Munroe) and __ Lewis. Sarah's children (Claire E. Lewis, Daniel T. Lewis Jr., Stafford Lewis) were raised in New Bedford (226 Arnold Street), where Daniel Lewis was a house carpenter. Daniel Lewis's father died when he was a small boy. He lived in Tiverton with two children from his mother's first marriage, James and Bertha Chase, who's father also died then they were infants. Daniel had one older brother, William F. Lewis. You can find Sarah Alethia Taber's ancestry in two genealogies available at many genealogical libraries, and at the New Bedford Free Public Library. The "Taber Genealogy" compiled by George L. Randall (Vining Press, New Bedford, 1924) names Sarah on page 310. Note that Randall incorrectly identified Sarah's 2nd great-grandfather Jeremiah Taber as a son of John Taber, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Spooner) Taber. Jeremiah was a son of John Taber, Blacksmith of Tiverton, and Sarah (last name unknown; not Sarah (Summer) Walker, widow of John Walker, who married 2nd the widower John Taber, son of Captain Thomas Taber).] The ancestry of John Taber of Tiverton, Blacksmith, is accurately presented in Ralph V. Wood Jr., "Francis Cooke of the Mayflower," Volume 12 of Mayflower Families (Picton Press, 1999). Sarah's Taber ancestors lived off the Crandall Road about one mile North of the village of Adamsville, Rhode Island. Some of her father's Taber descendants still live in the same area.
