That depends on which Tacey you are. If your family is from the Bay City area in Michigan then you are probably part of my branch of Taceys. If so then your name came from the French version of the name, Tessier. This became Americanized to Tacey when Prosper Tacey moved his family to Michigan from Ontario Canada in the 1860's. They were French-Canadian so the name originally came from France.
