Hello Paul,
We are glad you have decided to share your family history even if there is no connection found. My Tingle line came from my great grandmother Holly Jane Tingle. Her father was Josiah P. Tingle. The family name is English possibly steming from Yorkshire as early as 1379. The name has been changed over the years from Tynghill, Tyngyl and Tingle. The particular line I am researching settled I believe in Maryland, later on census show they are in North Carolina, some settled in Georgia, Kentucky and Alabama. My great grandmother was born in Bibbsville, ALABAMA. John Tingle believed to have settled in Maryland. The Tingley are also reported to have settled in Vermonth, Virginia and Maryland. Some believe the name Tingley is part of the Tingle family. Name changed over the years to Tingley then to Tingle,etc.. My great granmother Holly Jane Tingle father Josiah was born in North Carolina about 1782. Father could be Israel Tingle and mother Martha. Josiah married Elizabeth about 1816 in Bibbsville, Bibb Co., Alabama. So this is my line I am researching. Keep me posted if you find a connection. Thanks.
Sincerely, Grandma B.
