My gg-grandmother was born Arie Adna Liza Sarah Jane Tingle on May 4, 1864. From what I understand she married a man by the name of Joe McAfee Yates. She is buried at the Filmmore Cemetary, Bossier Parrish, Louisiana, having passed on March 20, 1912. Her head stone reveals that she was part of the fraternity "Woodmen of the World", "Woodmen Circle".
She gave birth to five children; Joie Cornelia, Adna, Jefferson Davis, Rose and Minnie.
According to my grandfather, Ara is the daughter of a Mr. Tingle and an American indian by the name of Clerolae (spelling?). Clerolae is supposedly related, in some way, to Sequoya, the Cherokee, but this is not confirmed.
I have no other information on her, her husband or her parents.
