Josiah Tingley was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1730, and married Jemima Crabtree. Josiah was granted land in Nova Scotia in 1763 for serving in the French War. They had a son, Josiah, and several other children. He became a farmer in New Brunswick and is buried there.
