I'm searching high and low for the parents and/or siblings of John Marcus Barber, b. 4-12-1822 d. 3-23-1912, buried Burns Chapel Cemetery, Shelbyville. He married Celia Ann Wadley in 1843 in Rutherford County and they were the parents of James, Susan, Florica Savannah, William Samuel, John Caswell, Alfred Blevins, Martha, and Robert Lee Barber.
I found a brief obituary in the Western Weekly Review of a Samuel Barber, 1764-1841, a Revolutionary War veteran who died in Shelbyville. I strongly suspect that he might be a grandfather to my John Marcus but I can find no other info on him and can not connect them up. Whoever might have access to relevant local records and sources please help.
