hi,
could someone explain to me what a keeper of the toll gate was in 1910.
am going over info in files and was sent 1910 bedford co census in bellbuckle town 4th civil district.
tom claxton was my ggranfather and it has him listed as keeper of toll gate.any help would be appreciated.
