My G-Grandfather is Alford W. Southern. He was born Dec. 1853 in Tn. He was married in Floyd County Ga. 1873 to Pairlee Smedley. They lived most of their life in Cherokee County Al. I believe his parents was Alford W. Southern and Emily ? Southern in the Bledsoe 1850 County Census. The family above Alford in the 1850 census was a Aaron Swafford and wife Mariah. With them is Mariah's mother Linny Mills (Sarah). The names in the Swafford family and Southern are close to the same. Is Sarah Linny Mills the mother of Emily Southern. Where is Alford W. Sr. in 1860 and 1870? Alford b.1853 is with James F. Creason and wife Florence (Southern) 16 years old in 1870 in Bledsoe County Tn.. The household above them is a Jasper N. Creason and Mariah (Southern). How do the Southern, Swafford, Mills, and Creason families connect?
