Looking for information on Martha WALKER b. ca 1804 in NC. Martha supposedly married James MATTHEWS and had 5 children. She then married, before 1850, to James HOLEMAN or HOLLIMAN ( or other Spellings) who was b. ca 1810 in TN. In 1850 Martha and James HOLEMAN resided in Bledsoe co. TN. Martha did not have any HOLIMAN children that I know of. Her MATTHEWS chidren may have included: (1) Elizabeth MATHEWS b. ca 1820 to 1824 who married Thomas BLAKE jr ca 1840., (2)Mariah MATHEWS b. 20 Nov. 1832 TN, who married John H. MANING then Jesse BUTRAM, (3) James MATHEWS jr. b. ca 1834 TN who mar. Millie UPCHURCH, (4) Christianna b. 1836 TN, and (5) Sarah MATHEWS b. ca 1837. There may have been other MATHEWS children born between 1824 & 1832. In 1850 this family lived in Bledsoe co. TN. By 1860, Martha and James HOLEMAN and some of the children were in Wayne co. KY. The birth dates for the children may be way off as the ages for these children change sporatically over the census years. In 1850 James jr. is listed as age 16, in 1860 he is 32, in 1870 age 40 and in 1880 still age 40. In 1850 Elizabeth MATHEW Blake is listed as age 30 but in 1860 she is 36. I have not found Martha and James HOLEMAN after the 1870 census for Wayne co. KY. When and Where did they die ? Who were Martha WALKER'S parents? Who did Christianna & Sarah marry ? Any help greatly appreciated. JoAnn
